It has been exciting to see the rise and fall and rise again of my new book on the Amazon book rankings. I don’t know how many copies have actually been sold yet but it is encouraging to know that both the paperback and the kindle edition of Picking a President: Or Any Other Elected Official are getting out into the public arena and might be a useful to God to move our country in a righteous direction.

But it is folly to think that political engagement is going to change our world. Our world, and closer to home, our country, will only be changed by radical turning of Christians back to their Lord and his Lordship over every area of their lives. We need to become authentic, cross-bearing, cross-shaped, gospel-saturated people whose singular goal, from first awaking in the morning to last conscious thought at night is the glory of God and spread of a passion for Christ.

Jesus is the answer to the world’s need. Let’s not forget that even while we are seeking to be responsible citizens of this country. Let’s not forget that our true country and our most important citizenship is not of the country we reside in and love on this small planet in the Milky Way Galaxy but that our true and eternal citizenship is in the Kingdom of God. So if you have a copy of my book or if you are going to purchase a copy, please, make sure that your greatest joy is found in Him not in political action.
