Sometimes you have to try, even if talent is in short supply. Poetry has an ability to be densely packed with information and sometimes, even wisdom. Readers can explore the echoes in this rant about the current state of our culture.
Echoes
Alexander told us
“the West has lost its soul,”
and the Left has buried its own.
Only shouting and violence remain. The future is in ashes
awaiting a mythical Phoenix.
But it’s only a recycled trash heap
awaiting the final judgment. The Left’s heroes hated all their fathers
and buried what they inherited
in a childish fit of rage.
Karl lost his mind and demanded,
everyone follow in time. The world is now filled with his children
who multiply day by day.
By their own mouths, they have become
the useful idiots of their own design. The fools, they triumphed for a split second,
but in the twinkling of an eye
will see their blunder reckoned.
Only the followers of the One denied,
will rise with their hero and friend.Noam is a linguist, not a historian to trust.
Yet he is the vanguard of a legion,
with a lie-filled opus of anarchy and abuse.
Jeffery, he defended, and then covered his tracks.
He’s not the righteous warrior he pretends.Richard and Christopher will both
soon be gone to dust, they think.
But their logic is flawed,
and their arguments are straw.Who are they and what do they hope to gain?
Don’t they know their arms are too short?
When will they ever learn?
When will they e v e r l e a r n?
