Sanctifying the Day —
A Call to Worship —
“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!
Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving;
let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise!
Because our God is a great God
a King of kings,
a Lord of lords,
a sovereign over earth and sea,
and one before whom we delight to bow
and whom we can rise to serve
with new joy this morning.
Oh come, let us sing to the LORD;
let us make a joyful noise to the Rock of our salvation!”
cf. Psalm 95:1-6; Revelations 1:5 and 17:14
A Mid-Day Prayer for Revival
“Revive us O God,
according to Your steadfast love,
according to Your abounding mercy,
don’t leave us in the shallows of life.
Revive us O Lord of all that is,
according to Your promise to bury our sins in the sea,
according to Your making us Your sons and daughters,
don’t let us flounder in wasted lives.
We have not walked in integrity.
We have squandered our eyes on worthless things.
We have not pondered Your word like treasure.
Forgive us, O God.
But change us.
O God don’t leave us like this.
Change us, for Your Names sake.
That the world would see the beauty that we have seen in You.
Amen.”
cf. Psalm 101, Psalm 51:1-3; Micah 7:19
An Evening Benediction
“Enter.”
‘Enter His gates with thanksgiving.’
Every word is precious.
With His voice,
with His word,
He tells us to “enter.”
What word from Him could be more precious.
All day long He has whispered our names.
All day long He has been preparing a place.
All day long He has been advocating for us.
All day long He has longed for us and planned for us
with the plans He set into motion before the world was made.
So rest.
Place Your heart in rest,
and go to your sleep with tears of joy.
He loves You.
Sleep well.”
cf. Psalm 100:4-5; 1 John 2:1; John 14:1-6; Ephesians 1:11-14
