Christ is Our Champion and King

Sanctifying the Day — Living Under the Lordship of the King

Philadelphia d

Sanctifying the Day is a continuing series designed to help me live passionately for and like Jesus. They are written for me, but my hope is that they might be helpful to others.

A Call to Worship on Mother’s Day

“O come let us worship and bow down.
Let us kneel before the Lord our maker,
for He is our God
and we are people of His pasture.
He is mighty and has spoken grace over us,
and longs to gather those who have joined in covenant with Him.
So let us shout joyfully to Him,
for our God is a great King.
Let us march through the day as His servants,
and may we bring the grace of His presence
to all we meet.”

Cf. Psalm 50:1-5;  Psalm 95:1-3;
and any three choruses based on Psalm 95

A Mid-Day Prayer for Revival

9   Our Father in heaven,
    hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come,
     Your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread,
12 and forgive us our debts,
as we also have forgiven our debtors.
13 And lead us not into temptation,
     but deliver us from evil.

Cf. Matthew 6:9-13

A Benediction to Sanctify the Night

“Our Helper and Sustainer has walked with us this day.
Morning, noon, and evening we have murmured our complaints,
and He has heard our voices.
Now, as the day draws to a close
may His character and promises
be your comfort and hope.
May all your anxieties and fears
be cast on Him because He cares for you.
And with such knowledge
that He cares for us
we have all we need to sleep tonight
and awaken tomorrow
with hope.”

Cf. Psalm 54:4; 55:17; 1 Peter 5:7

Encourage a friend. Pass it on.

Look for His hand. Seek His voice in His word.
