A Liturgy to Fill-Up a Day with Christ
A Call to Worship as We Greet the Day
“It’s another morning Lord.
I’m not sure I am prepared for it,
and I’m not sure if I have the energy for it.
But this I know, in all my weakness, You are strong.
In all my confusion, You have perfect knowledge.
So this morning, I cry to You again.
Hear my prayer, O Lord,
give ear to my cry;
and hold not Your peace from me this day.”May the knowledge of Your power
and the awareness of Your love
cause us to sing Your praise as we wait patiently
for You to incline to us and draw us near.
And may our testimony be a joy for Your kingdom.Cf. Psalm 39:12; 40:1
A Mid-Day Prayer for Revival
“Lord would You meet us today?
Would You incline to us and come to us
and make us what You want us to be?
Would you so energize us and make us like You
that the world will forget us as the see You in us?
Lord Jesus, purify us of our sin,
and show us anything in our thoughts, anything in our behavior
that keeps us from seeing Your will with clarity.
Help us to repulsed by these things and draw us to
repent of our lack of passion for the gospel,
our lack of effort in prayer, our lack of study of your word,
our lack of willingness to sacrifice for our neighbors.
O God, forgive us these things and make us a people who
embraces Your will no matter what its cost to us,
so that Your Name would be exalted everywhere in the world.
For Your glory we ask it. Amen.”A Benediction to Sanctify the Night
“As you lay your head on your pillow tonight,
may you remember
that He who is the mystery of godliness,
He who appeared in a body,
was vindicated by the Spirit,
was seen by angels,
was preached among the nations,
was believed on in the world,
and taken up in glory;
and who is coming again to judge the living and the dead,
and who will receive His bride, the Church, to Himself;
May He humble you under His mighty hand
that He may greet you in the morning with new mercies.
Amen.”
