Reading with the Pastor
Acts 20 and Psalm 25
“Indeed, none of those who wait for You will be ashamed;
Those who deal treacherously without cause will be ashamed.”
Psalm 25:3
What a promise!
Two lines.
But in those two lines is a promise of vindication of patience.
………………… vindication of faith,
………………… vindication of trust,
………………… vindication of hope,
………………… an answer to all the barbs,
………………… an answer to all the hate,
………………… an answer to all the innuendo,
………………… an answer to all the mockery,
………………… an answer to all the threats,
………………… an answer to all the shaming our culture wants to throw upon believers.
Waiting on God, trusting Him to be and do what He says will prove “good, acceptable and perfect” (Romans 12:2) in the end. God will vindicate Himself and all those who placed their hope in Him and His word.
The tables will be turned.
Justice will prevail. Those who sought to shame will be shamed. Those who mocked and hated and threatened will be shocked on that future day when Christ comes to receive us to Himself.
