If I Could have a Do-over on Parenting My Kids

Sunday Afternoon Musings

Obeying the Word of GodIf I could have a do-over on parenting my children, I might have them memorize every one of the verses below.
Why?
Because these verses serve to impress upon the heart the non-negotiable nature of the word of God …
  • for life and happiness,
  • for purpose and holiness,
  • for strength against sin and passion for righteousness.
Treasuring the word of God, loving it, delighting in it, rejoicing in the word of God is at the center of a life lived with passion for the glory of God. Look up and read these verses and drink in the flavor of how important the word of God is to a life lived for God.
So if you are wondering about how to jump start your walk with God, strengthen your resolve to live for God, to deepen your skill in living purposefully, these verses would be a great place to begin.
Psalm 119:11, 14, 16, 24, 35, 47, 70, 77, 92, 143, 159, 162, 163, 167, and 174.
