Are there any reasons when the release of a pastor and the starting of a new church “down the street”, “around the corner” or “in the next town over” is not a good idea?
(I’m interested in a theological and theoretical discussion not a list of church names and pastors who you disagree with.)

I believe it is NEVER a good idea or proper for a pastor who has been at a church and is released or resigned should start a church “nearby” the former church. This is going to do nothing but HURT the kingdom and split friends and families and force them to make decisions are loyalty and direction. Why cause this??? For what good reason??? Answer… There is NO good reason. So just don’t do it.
