The Advantage of a Literate Christian Witness

Sunday Musings

philip-and-the-ethiopian-y3_w3212 And the eunuch said to Philip,
“About whom, I ask you, does the prophet say this, about himself or about someone else?”

35 Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning with this Scripture he told him the good news about Jesus.

36 And as they were going along the road they came to some water, and the eunuch said,
“See, here is water! What prevents me from being baptized?”

I covet for every believer the ability of Philip to move from the text of Isaiah 53 to the good news about Jesus. How do we get there? Simple.

Patient, reflective, repeated, reading, and studying of the word of God. Renew your commitment to the word of the  Living God. Pick up your Bible. Step back in to your Bible reading plan. It is part of what it means to “be ready, in season and out of season to preach the word” (2 Timothy 4:2)  and “give a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15)
