Re-engaging the Neighborhood for Your Neighbor’s Joy and God’s Glory

Sunday Musings

Gathered some of the tweets from last week. Here are some random thoughts on INTENSELY LOCAL ministry (see here also or just search the phrase). This is a growing theme on the BLOG. I’m convinced that churches need to relearn how to re-engage with their neighbors and take the gospel to the streets. Perhaps you could use these in your small groups to get them to begin to wrestle with what it means to be engaged with their neighbors.

  1. Intensely Local ministry is cultivated by toil, watered by tears, and harvested in joy.
  2. Intensely Local Ministry is more than a smile, a wave, and a nod to your neighbor.
  3. Intensely Local ministry is keenly connected to the seasons, trials, and triumphs of neighbors lives.
  4. Intensely Local Ministry is long-term, patient, and Christ dependent.
