Tuesday is for Preaching
Had the opportunity to preach the book of Habakkuk to a grieving church this past Sunday. What an incredible privilege to stand before people and know that you have a word of hope from the living God.

A. Hab. 1:1-4 Habakkuk’s First Question: How long Oh God will you tolerate sin?
B. Hab. 1:5-11 God’s First Response: “I will judge Israel by the hand of the Chaldeans.”
II. Habakkuk 1:12-2:20 Habakkuk’s Second Problem: God’s first answer!
A. Hab. 1:12-2:1 Habakkuk’s Second Question: “We’re bad, but they’re worse. How can you use them to judge us?
B. Hab. 2:2-5 God’s Second Response: “The Chaldeans will be judged too. Meanwhile, the just shall live by faith.”
III. Habakkuk 2:6-20 Habakkuk’s Public Response to God’s Plan: Five Warnings to the People of God.
A. Hab. 2:6-8 Woe #1: To those who take by violence what is not theirs.
B. Hab. 2:9-11 Woe #2: To those who devise shameful plans.
C. Hab. 2:12-14 Woe #3: To those who build their empires on violence.
D. Hab. 2:15-17 Woe #4: To those seeking to disgrace & destroy their neighbors.
E. Hab. 2:18-20 Woe #5: To those who worship created things.
IV. Habakkuk 3:1-19 Habakkuk’s Private Response to God’s Plans: Worship
A. Petition: In wrath, remember mercy, Oh God.

Thanks for the great outline Marty. Good stuff 🙂 Question: Do you know much about the organization, “Corporate Chaplains of America?” If so…what’s your impression of that ministry?

Andrew,
I had never heard of them although I think I had read or seen something reporting on the developments of this concept. Just did some research on them and they seem to be a great group with a very creative strategy.
I like it.
