Do You See the Birds?

Do You See the Birds?

I put a birdfeeder outside the kitchen window because my wife asked me to. A flower hangs on the back. On the left hangs a cylinder feeder. On the right hangs a hummingbird feeder, and out in front is a feeder that looks like a child’s doll house is filled with seed that is squirrel-proof (for the moment!). Birds feed and look at their reflection in the window. Sparrows, blue jays, blue birds, indigo bunting, cardinals, orioles, rose-breasted grosbeaks, grackles, cow birds, redwing blackbirds, hummingbirds, chickadees, tufted titmouse, house finch, purple finch, gold finches, and others have all made their appearance.

The creativity that God has displayed outside our window has been a feast for our eyes. A bonus is that there is now a Sunflower creeping up to the sky from beneath the feeder — a survivor of the feeding frenzy going on above it.

But there is more here.

God is teaching us. He loves and feeds them, cares for them, and in a small way, we are participating with Him in the process. But every visit of every bird is a reminder that He loves us more. And the song below reminds us of that truth in a wonderful melody and lyric combination.
