It is almost 9 PM as I write. That means it is 2 PM in the afternoon on the East Coast.
For the last three days, I have taught for 6-6.5 hours a day with some intense questioning from the conference attendees. It has been marvelous and exhausting. Every afternoon, I get back to my hotel room around 4 PM and collapse on to the bed. Within minutes, I am asleep in a nap that pays no attention to the considerable amount of noise outside. Cars honking (no minute of the day is not filled with the sound of cars, buses, vans, motorcycles, powered tricycles [thousands of them] beeping their horns), music blaring, people chanting, laughing, arguing, singing. It doesn’t matter, I am dead to the world for 45 minutes to an hour.
But the eagerness of these men (and a few women), to learn, think, ask questions is inspiring. They want to serve Jesus. They want to see their nation reached for Christ. It is wonderful. Many are poor. Most are under-resourced. Few have seminary or even high level Bible School training. But they have hearts that want to learn and glorify Christ. And the singing!!! I must have everything translated of course, so much of the message of the songs is mediated through my wonderful translator, but the passion of the worship still comes through. I love it.
I hope you are praying for these beautiful people. We have one Father, the same Savior and the same indwelling Holy Spirit. We are brothers and sisters with them. And they value your prayers for them. So please pray. When I get back, I hope to post videos and pictures but frankly I am too tired to do mor than this little update and I still need to prepare something for tomorrow. God bless you. Thank you for supporting me in this work.
One more thing: The conference has gone extremely well, but there are not as many pastors as predicted. The ones who are here are asking great questions, are completely engaged, and are being greatly encouraged.

Hi Marty, God bless you and your work for God’s kingdom. I pray that God Almighty the Father of us all will guide, protect, and love on you and the people you are teaching. May His love and truth, mercy and grace and righteousness and the Holy Spirit flow through all involved. May everyone have their hearts be on fire for God’s word. I pray in the glorious, compassionate, forgiving, all powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Amen. Love You Marty.

Thank you, brother. I have now completed 4 days of endless, continuous teaching. Tomorrow, I will meet with about 7 or 8 of the conferees for one-on-one counseling with regard to their ministries. Please pray for my wisdom, discernment, and stamina.
