It Only Appears Once in the Bible

The word “gap” only appears once in the Bible.

Once.

And Ezekiel 22:30 is that one time. The nation of Israel was a mess. They had turned from God. The cities had become violent and crime ridden. Immorality was rampant. Liars dominated the leadership structures in the Temple and the government. Greed rather than grace was the reason people sought power. As a consequence, the poor, the need and the sojourners in the land are all neglected and oppressed. Read Ezekiel 22; it’s all pretty clear.

Does any of this sound familiar?

It does to me.

The United States is not Israel.
God has not made a covenant with the United States.

On the other hand, God does not change.
He still hates all the things that Israel had become in Ezekiel’s time.
He judged Israel.

Mark this, He will judge the United States of America.

Unless, perhaps, a man is found to stand in the gap.

Who will be the man (or woman) who will stand in the gap for our nation in this generation?
