Let’s End the Year Well: Join Me

Gather your family and let’s do this together.

Five steps.

  1. Have each of them write these verses on a 3 x 5 card.
  2. Put the “cheat sheet” letters on the opposite side of the card.
  3. Everybody read their card out loud once.
  4. Pair off and quiz one another for 3-5 minutes.
  5. Read the verses every morning for a week.

It will be memorized, trust me. Spend the rest of the year doing what the verses tell us to do.

What you should memorize:

Joshua 1:8-9

8 “This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”

Joshua 1:8-9

And here is a cheat sheet to help the process
(every word’s first letter plus punctuation).

8 “T B o t L s n d f y m, b y s m o i d a n, s t y m b c t d a t a t i w i i. F t y w m y w p, a t y w h g s.
H I n c y? B s a c. D n b f, a d n b d, f t L y G i w y w y g.”

Those highlighted words are an ancient Hebrew battle cry. They are repeated over and over again throughout the Old Testament and you hear its echo in many places in the New Testament.

“Be strong and courageous.”

Let’s take these words to heart this year.  There are 10 weeks to go. Let’s be strong and courageous for the LORD each day, one day at a time. Let’s end the year recommitting ourselves and our families to the Lord our God. Let me know in the comments if you will be joining with me.
