Beecher would know. His was a life steeped in controversy, some of it self-inflicted but all of it under the sovereign gaze of God. God is shaping you too, through the pains and sorrows of this life on this side of heaven. Whether you are in the fire of the forge or on the anvil of His shaping, it is He who ultimately holds the hammer and uses all things to sculpt you for His glory and fit you for higher callings in this life and the next.
Stay ready for either, the forge or the anvil, and trust the Lord your God to hold you every step of the way.
