A Sabbath Week of Praise – Sunday

Beach stacked stones 1
Sunday is not the week end; it is the week beginning. It is a time to end a week of work with a day of rest.
So let us begin this week with praise.

Praise Him.     He is a righteous judge. (Ps. 7:11)

Praise Him.     He is the LORD Most High. (Ps. 7:17)
Praise Him.     He gives us Himself. (Ps. 37:4)
Praise Him.     He vindicates the righteous. (Ps. 37:6)
Praise Him.     Those who wait for Him inherit a place with Him. (Ps. 37:9)
Praise Him.     He gives us an eternal inheritance. (Ps. 37:18)
Praise Him.     He holds our hand. (Ps. 37:24)
Praise Him,     because He is Yours and you are His.

cf. Psalm 7; 37; and 67

Praise Him in the Day

In this mid-day hour,
Let us look to the sky of our day and say . . .

May God be gracious to us and bless us
    and make his face to shine upon us,   Selah
that your way may be known upon earth,
    your saving power among all nations.
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

Let the nations be glad and sing for joy,
    for you judge the peoples with equity
    and guide the nations upon earth.   Selah
Let the peoples praise you, O God;
    let all the peoples praise you.

The earth has yielded its increase;
    God, our God, has blessed us.
May God continue to bless us;
    let all the ends of the earth revere him.

Psalm 67 (NRSV)
cf. also Genesis 1-2

Praise Him in the Evening

As this day draws to a close,

Praise Him.    Because He reigns.   (Ps. 97:1,9)
Praise Him.    Righteousness and justice are the foundation of His throne.   (Ps. 97:2)
Praise Him.    The heavens proclaim His righteousness.   (Ps. 97:6)
Praise Him.    For there is no God above Him.   (Ps. 97:9)
Praise Him.    For the gift of children.    (Ps. 127:3)

cf. Psalm 67 and 97
