A Mid-Day Prayer — Make us Forgivers
Volume 1 Day 12
5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself,
according to the kind intention of His will, . . .
9 He made known to us the mystery of His will,
according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him.
Commenting on the presence of the word ευδοκιαν (translated in the NASB as “kind intention”) A. Skevington Wood writes,
“From all eternity the Father cherished in his own mind a plan that was to be carried out in Christ.” (Expositor’s, Volume 11).
“Lord, You have worked from before the world began to bring about our salvation and we praise You for the kindness of Your intention. Make us to delight in Your tender care. Make our hearts tender toward You again. Make us a people whose heart strings are played by Your Spirit so that our lives become a great melody of praise to You. Revive us, Oh God, and help us to see Your hand. Help us to remember that we are loved and forgiven, and help us to love and forgive all who offend us. Amen.”
