Conquering Pride by Refusing to Work in Our Own Strength

Tuesday Afternoon Musings

― Søren Kierkegaard

We are often so saturated with the spirit of the age, the desire to be noticed, to be important, to be significant, to be famous, or honored, or liked that we strive with all our strength to make it happen. But God has other ideas for our “greatness”. He desires our hearts to lean into Him and to trust Him.

“Lord, beat my pride into submission that I would never attempt to do anything in my own strength but would always and only lean into and with your Spirit. For your glory, Amen.”
