I am becoming more and more convinced that there is a tidal wave coming to the American Church. It is doctrinal in nature and unless pastors and church leaders are released from their bondage to the therapeutic concerns of people in their pulpits and teaching, the American Church is going to see tidal-wave-like destruction in the near (next 15 years) future.
What is the issue?
We don’t understand the gospel.
Sound crazy. It gets crazier. Evangelicals, the staunch defenders of the Bible, and inerrancy, and substitutionary atonement, and the cross of Christ are abandoning all of these for a mess of theological porridge that Jesus and the Apostles would not recognize. We, we evangelicals, are becoming a very soft-headed, anti-intellectual, culturally correct people who are far more interested in getting along with everyone rather than standing for the “truth once delivered.” (Jude 3)
Brothers and Sisters:
There is no other name under heaven whereby men may be saved (Acts 4:12). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life and there is no way to the Father that does not pass through him (John 14:6). All men and women, everywhere are commanded to repent and believe in the gospel because there is salvation in no one else. (Mk. 1:15; Mt. 3:2; Lk. 24:47; Acts 20:21)
You live and work among people who are going to spend eternity either with God or without God. The means of their salvation, the only means, is the gospel of Christ. They need what you know. They need the gospel. Again, the means of their salvation is in your head and heart. It needs to be on your lips for the means of their salvation is the preaching of the gospel. (Romans 10:14).
You are about serious work. Take it seriously. Preach the word of the Kingdom. Call men and women to repent and believe.
Don’t flinch from your call.
Do it with grace.
Do it with compassion.
Do it with sensitivity.
Do it with boldness.
Do it for the glory of God and the joy of the nations for there is no hope apart from Christ.

Great post! Evangelicals which have moved away from the Gospel the way you mentioned above, have in the true sense of the word, ceased being Evangelicals. Your message makes me want to ‘shout’ because of its clarity, and ‘cry’ because of its reality. Thanks for sharing…

It is time for men to stand in the truth of the gospel and stop conforming to Americanity! Many pastors are more concerned with gathering a bigger crowd then they are with following Jesus and engaging in true gospel ministry.

That’s just the sort of gimmicky thing that is going on out there.

Or, quite likely, the tidal flood has already arrived in this kind of judgment: God has removed the preaching of His Word in response to the demands of millions of church goers who demand therapeutic teachings and not his Word.
God sends them preachers who fill them with what they demand so their judgment, together with the preachers, may be ripened for the day of Christ.

Good and bold, my brother. Word and Sacraments! That’s what I’ve been saying for years. There comes a time when you’ve had it with the senseless, powerless drivel that you have left when the Church stops beating down the gates of hell with the pure Gospel.

Not a new phenomenon. Fifteen to twenty years ago, I was praying for revival in the manner of Daniel 11. Now I pray to be found faithful. The time is short — every day we can see the signs of the last days. I’m seeing only dim coals where there was not too long ago a raging fire as the Spirit led the faithful.

Hello from the UK. You prophesied correctly!
The interesting thing is the Church has been tested by the Covid 19 delusion, or more correctly deluge of lies by MSM and governments etc. across the world. It is sorting the wheat from the tares.
