Thursday is for Discipleship

Here’s a discipleship study to sober and deepen your new converts. Have them read Romans 12:9-13:14. Ask them to make a list of all the things that Paul commanded the Roman believers to do under the heading “Marks of a True Follower of Christ“

After they have plowed through that blizzard of imperatives and they come back the following week or whenever you are meeting with them for coffee again in a bleeding, lumpy mass of humility and confusion, remind them of the glories of grace and begin your discussion of how the power to do these things is borne out of a thankful dependence  upon the Holy Spirit and a cultivated memory of joy and devotion to the Lord of the Gospel.
