Mom Ran into the Arms of Jesus this Afternoon

My incredible mother ran into the arms of Jesus this afternoon at 4:30, do doubt, after being intercepted by my father who escorted her the last few steps.

Earlier today, I told her that I love all my brothers and sisters not because they are famous, but because all of them ought to be. Each of them is extraordinary in their own right, mighty in the things that matter, character, integrity and love.

Please be in prayer for her seven children (Me, Karl, Mary, Ed, Will, Joe, and Heather) our seven incredible spouses, her 24 grandchildren, her 4 great grandchildren, and eight spouses of her grandchildren. We have lost a mountain of a woman and matriarch of the family.

She changed the world.

  1. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you walk through this time of ‘temporary separation’. May the influence of your Mom’s life, which is being lived out in your lives today, comfort and gladden your hearts. May you be encouraged in your faith as you look toward the coming reunion…With Love and Prayer!

  2. My prayers and my sympathy are with you, Marty. Yet I know that you are rejoicing together with your family. One of the greatest joys of my life was to gather in a prayer circle with my brothers and sisters after each of my parents had gone home.
    Praise the Almighty God!

  3. I’m sorry to hear about your mom. She was an incredible lady. The last time I remember talking to her was in Higher Ground years ago. We talked about her losing her eyebrows and eyelashes, and she encouraged me as a young mother of busy boys.

Praying peace and comfort for all of you.

  4. I’m so sorry to hear about your mom, Marty. Just to hear the way you recall her life is a testament to the legacy she has left. You clearly have risen and called her blessed. May God comfort you and your family, giving you peace, joy and thanksgiving until He reunites you again.

With love and prayer for all of you!
