Listening to the Voice of God

Numbers 9:22-23 (ESV)
22 Whether it was two days, or a month, or a longer time, that the cloud continued over the tabernacle, abiding there, the people of Israel remained in camp and did not set out, but when it lifted they set out. 23 At the command of the Lord they camped, and at the command of the Lord they set out. They kept the charge of the Lord, at the command of the Lord by Moses.

They did not move unless the Lord commanded.

Oh that we would not move in any venture large or small with out the assurance that it was at the command of God.  We won’t discern the will of God by a pillar of fire or a cloud, but his word and prayer and the counsel of godly men and women and the internal testimony of the Spirit, together can give us the assurance we need to move into the future with confidence.
