“Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there … put away the foreign gods that are among you and purify yourselves and change your garments.” (Genesis 35:1-2)
Sojourners with God are always moving and dwelling with God. Day by day, we wrestle with foreign gods that somehow have entangled our vision and stolen our affections. The indwelling-God will tolerate no rivals. For our joy and His glory he calls us to leave the old garments behind.
May you, in your sojourn with God this weekend leave all your entangling gods behind and find Him who used his blood for ink, and His body as a canvas, to declare the immensity of his love for you.
I will not post for the next week while I am away in New Zealand speaking to conferees at the Call2All Conference. I covet your prayers for the effectiveness and impact of 80 speakers on 3,500 conferees from around the world. Pray that our investment in the next generation of leaders for the Church would produce fruit that remains and brings great honor to Christ.
