Failing Miserably

Worship Intensely“‘In whatever man does without God,” wrote George MacDonald, “he must fail miserably–or succeed more miserably.’ The Church today is starting to suffer from success, and it is time we returned to worship.”

  1. I have prayed in the past for persecution to strike the American Church. Do I want it? No, I fear it! But I am convinced that it’s the only thing that will drive us to our knees.

  2. Both prayer and action are required. Why? Because if we pray and do not act, God may think we expect Him to do all the work. And, if we only act and do not pray, God may think that we think we can succeed without Him blessing our efforts. Both prayer and action (sacrifice of one’s efforts) are needed. Too many “Christians” are those of the comfortable persuasion where prayer is easy but action, actually giving of one’s self, is distasteful to them.
