I’m not denying a process in becoming a fisher of men, I’m just saying that mature discipleship always yields a gospel telling man or woman, compelled by the beauty of the gospel, the needs of others and most of all, the command of Christ, to tell others. It doesn’t take as long as some people say. And when the process is drawn out too long it actually hinders spiritual growth.

Discipleship is about personally knowing and making known to others the way of Jesus Christ’s POST-INCARNATE REVELATION, which “not even death will ever be able to overcome” (Matt. 16:18), a.k.a., “it was impossible that death should hold him prisoner” which triggers the outpouring of the Holy Spirit (Acts 2 especially verse 24).
The only way which expresses his divine identity and absolute authority “in heaven and on earth”, i.e., over death and life is his Spirit-active, perfect and diacritical death including the power to transform the lives of others; and also teach personally new disciples. (Matt. 28: 18-20)

That is exactly how it worked for the rehab of the backsliding disciples,(Acts 1: 1-5), the baptism of 3,000 people “in the name of Jesus Christ” (Acts 2), the conversions of Saul (Ibid. 9) and me.
