Giving Thanks for a Crisp Fall Day

Friday is for Heart Songs

Fall - tree - nature - orange leaves - autumn leaves - fallt ree via pinterestThe air is crisp. The sun is bright. The dew is thick.

Finally, Fall has arrived.

Corn is being harvested. Soybean too. Trees are adding color to the horizon and the annual de-elevation of the landscape is in full swing. I have only lived in rural America for a year and half, but I am growing used to (and fond of) its rhythms.

Friday is a slower work day for me.  The staff is off and I will go in to work a quiet half day before going home to take my wife on a date. I look forward to every moment with her. Even hearing her rustle in the next room brings a smile. I married up. My bride is more than I deserve, better than I ever imagined. I am blessed.

Have a great weekend.  And remember to thank God for all the good gifts of life that we too often take for granted.
