Consumers of a Christian-flavored Life

Friday Rant

Part of the problem with the American church is that we spent so much of the 1980 and 90’s pickling ourselves in how to market the church that we lost Jesus. But it is only lovers, real lovers of Jesus who can tell others about him in any believable way and right now our churches are filled with consumers of a Christian flavored-life rather than redeemed one’s who are intoxicated with Christ. The world needs believers who are serious about living passionately for and like Christ.

  1. “Pickled” instead of “intoxicated.” Perfect description indeed…one by vinegar, the other by wine. Living through conferences and ministry ‘gimmicks’ of the 80’s and 90’s gives me the right to say a loud “AMEN” to your post! Thanks…
