Narcissism and the Pursuit of Happiness

“Nothing is more repulsive than a life turned inward and focused only on its own joy.”

Remember:

Jesus said we gain our lives by losing our lives.

Matthew 10:39

Whoever finds his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life for my sake will find it.

Mark 8:35

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake and the gospel’s will save it.

Luke 9:24-25

For whoever would save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses or forfeits himself?

  • Let’s live for the blessing of others.
  • Let’s walk in a newness of life that we have in Christ.
  • Let’s live for the joy and the happiness of others.
  • Let’s live for His happiness and find our greatest possible joy in the process.

It is the paradox of Kingdom of God. Our joy is best achieved in the pursuit of Him RATHER THAN our happiness.

Let’s live passionately for and like Jesus.
