Encouragement for the Soul

Continuing to meditate on one of the texts from lasts week’s message and had some further thoughts.
What will rescue us from the depressions and desperations of our situation? When children distance themselves from us of the Lord, what will keep our hearts at rest? You wife or husband is less than God desires, perhaps grossly less than what God wants them to be, what will keep your heart in peace? When your health or the health of one you love is less than optimal, perhaps critical and dire, what will enable you to stand “steadfast, immovable and always abounding in the work of the Lord?” (1 Cor. 15:58)
Is it not this,
“He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him over for us all, how will He not also with Him, freely give us all things?” (Rom. 8:32)
Brothers and sisters in Christ, strengthen your heart with this precious truth: God knows your situation, and He wants to use it, however uncomfortable it may seem today, to “with Him, freely give you all things” necessary for life and godliness (cf. 1 Pt. 1:2-4) Lean on Him. Trust in His word. Give your first love to Him and he will help you put all other loves and losses, joys and heartaches in perspective. And your heart—He will put at rest.
