This week I leave for Africa

This week, I leave for Africa to help train pastors in Tanzania to be more effective leaders and preachers of the message of the King. Today, as I was working on my preparations, it seemed appropriate to repost this article from 7 years ago (Link below). I hope to return to my loving wife. I hope to be with her, to move our home to Missouri, later this year. I hope to spend the remainder of my years with her and our grandchildren, helping my daughter and son-in-law raise up a new generation of Christ followers. I have no fears. I expect to be back. But if this were my last post, the last thing that anyone read from me, this is what I hope they would have before them.

Christ is my life. I hope that He is yours.

And one more thing: Would you pray for the 100 pastors from Tanzania? Pray that they would leave the conference and the meetings I will be preaching and teaching at, with a greater passion for Jesus than they have ever experienced in their lives. Pray the same thing for me.

The King Has an Announcement (<—Link)

Update: The conference has gone extremely well, not as many pastors as predicted, but the ones who are here are asking great questions, are completely engaged, and are being greatly encouraged.

Prayer requests: The conference is longer than I was led to believe. There is another whole day of teaching !!!!! So tomorrow, Friday, I have to come up with 6 more hours of instruction!!! I have to tell you, at seventy years of age, teaching 6 hours a day for four consecutive days is physically draining. Every day I come back to my hotel room and fall asleep within minutes. That is not normal for me. Pray that my stamina would endure and that God would empower my spiritually and physically. Thank you, for your ministry of prayer for these men and for me.

  1. I’ll be praying for God to use this time for his glory. Praying for your safety, good health, and for Stephnie while you’re gone. AlexisSent from my T-Mobile 5G Device

      1. Marty, It is such a privilege to be able to work for the Kingdom. I was called by God 25 years ago to pray for the persecuted church. that happened after you taught us at New Song Church about spiritual abuses and Christian persecution. I still pray daily for our brothers and sisters in Christ. Thank you and God bless you for your shepherding. Teri

        1. Thank you, Teri. You encouraged my soul today. Let’s keep praying for the purity of the church in all the places in the world where the body of Christ is being persecuted. We slept last night for the first time in our new home in Missouri.
