November Prayers (10)
Calling the Heart to Worship
Read Psalm 10
The sun rises and the Son of God reigns over it.
Therefore I will attack this day with confidence,
for He who made it has redeemed me
and called me
and sends me
into His world as His ambassador.
The Lord is King forever and ever
and the vindicator of the orphaned and oppressed.
May You be pleased to used me for Your glory.
Read Psalm 10:16-18
Read Psalm 40 and 70
Calling the Heart to Repentance
I should have waited.
I should have kept my mouth shut.
I should have been more concerned about their pain.
I should have waited on You
and gotten Your wisdom for the situation.
Instead I said the first thing that came into my head
and hurt my friend.
Lord every time I pray, You incline Your ear to my need.
Yet time after time, I plow through situations
without consulting You.
Forgive me Lord,
Your patience and mercy toward me abounds.
Make me wiser in how I use the mouth You gave me
So that Your glory is unhindered in its expression.
Hasten to me, O God!
You are my help and my deliverer;
O Lord, do not delay.
cf. Psalm 40:1, 4, 11-12 and 70:5
Read Psalm 100 and 130
Calling the Heart to Rest (a benediction on the day)
1 “Shout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before Him with joyful singing.
3 Know that the Lord Himself is God;
It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving
And His courts with praise.
Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
5 For the Lord is good;
His lovingkindness is everlasting
And His faithfulness to all generations.”
Rest well tonight.
His lovingkindness watches over You.
cf. Psalm 100:1-5 (NASB95)
