Sabbath Week of Repentance
Day 1   Sunday Prayer of Confession to the King

Holy Lord, I am aware of my unholiness
You are great and greatly to be praised
And yet my heart is often dull and unmoved.
How is that possible?
How is it possible for my heart to be aware of its dirt
and stand unmoved at Your majesty?

Like the Israelites, I forget too much.
I don’t remember enough of Your wonders.
And I, like them, take Your love for granted,
all Your provisions, all Your rescues,
all Your care and compassion sent my way
and still I don’t live completely sold-out for You.

Forgive my sin, O God.
Forgive me and change me,
That my life might better reflect the wonders of Your love.
