There is much that we know about God’s will, so clear and voluminous in His word to us, but often in the particulars for our day to day choices and questions we often wish for more or we wonder,
“Lord, why did that happen?
What are You up to?
How do You want me to respond to this?
What do You want be to learn in this?
How do I process what is happening right now?”
So how are we to handle not knowing? I found some wisdom today while reading an old biography. I’ll give the quote and then point out some observations.
Robert Murray McChenye, in a letter to a woman from his congregation wrote:
“How many purposes God has in view of which we know nothing! Perhaps we do not see the hundredth part of His intentions . . . I am contented to be led blindfolded; for I know that all will redound, through the thanksgiving of many, to the glory of our heavenly Father.”

Observations and Applications
-
God is always doing more than we can see.
-
God is always doing more than we can figure out.
-
Our attitude should be, if I am “blindfolded” about God’s purposes, it ought to enough for we know, in the midst of what we don’t know, that God will be glorified.
-
God being glorified in and through our life is the proper way to live whether we live or die.
Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all things for the glory of God.and not only that, but he has also been appointed by the churches to travel with us in this gracious work, which is being administered by us for the glory of the Lord Himself, and to show our readiness, having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, for the glory and praise of God.
