Made it to Sendai safely. Stayed up for 40 hours straight to get over jet lag quickly. Now my watch says it’s 5:45 in the evening, but I’m ready for breakfast (it’s 7:45 AM here). Today I am meeting with leaders giving relief to Tsunami victims today. In particular, a camp that provides opportunities to children who no longer have homes and in some cases, parents.
This will be a full day, touring a still-devastated region that comprised over 300 miles of destroyed coastline, hundreds of square miles. Region destroyed by the nuclear reactor crisis is 60 kilometers inland from the reactor site. Farmers continue to farm there and the power company pays them for food that no one should eat. Still some do. Older people in the region in particular, are ignoring government warnings and eating produce from the area. At the same time, the suspicion is that the government is not being completely honest about the health risks. Most believe that the health risks are much greater.
Tomorrow it is off to Osaka and the conference where I will be speaking 5 times. Pray for continued stamina and for the translators who will be working with me.
Pray for the Japanese who will attend the conference. Pray that God by his Spirit and the hope of the gospel will enliven the hearts of the believers to be bold to share the gospel with their countryman and that the gospel would have a great harvest of souls for the King.
