Wednesday is for Prayer
Two days to go on a fantastic class (The Destiny of the Unevangelized) with Dr. Bruce Ware and just four students. Tim is a Navy Chaplain, Roger is a former missionary to Albania coming back to plant a church in the San Francisco Bay area, and Gavin is a Aussie Anglican from Sydney, Australia, and me, oldest student in the room. It is thrilling to have four days of undivided access to such a godly scholar as Dr. Ware from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and then to be in the same room with such bright servants of God as my classmates—very humbling.

Keep these men in your prayer. Gavin will return to a country that is less than 3% Christian and apathetic toward spiritual truth; Tim works with men who do dangerous, life-threatening things everyday and Roger is coming from one difficult mission field and entering another. Dr. Ware is a valiant servant of the Cross who loves the gospel and its Lord with great passion.
All of those short bio’s mean that these are men with targets on their backs from the “spiritual forces of wickedness” that war against the saints of God. Would you pray for them.
- Pray the students would be diligent in their reading and writing as they work on post-class assignments and papers.
- Pray that they would be clear thinking and discerning in our discussions.
- Pray that they would be encouraged by the greatness and breadth of the gospel.
- Pray in particular for Dr. Ware and his exhausting teaching schedule and time away from his family.
And while you are praying for them, would you pray for me too. And by the way, thanks for the extraordinary response to prayer last week. I don’t know how I could have finished these two weeks without being the beneficiary of so many of your prayers.
