What I’m Reading This Weekend
one thousand gifts, Ann Voskamp :
The best devotional writer of our time. This book is about the transformative nature of life cultivating thanksgiving. Can’t recommend Ann’s words more highly or often enough.
Slave: The Hidden Truth About Your Identity in Christ, John MacArthur:
Generally, walk away from every book that has the phrase “the hidden truth” in the title. This one is an exception. If there is one book this year that you must read, this may be it.
Vatican Collection Volume 1, Austin Flannery, O.P. General editor: Reading this one for a doctoral class.
ekklesia: To the Roots of Biblical House Church Life, Steve Atkerson, Editor:
Too early to tell but see Is Apostolic Tradition Obsolete?
What’s So Great About Christianity?, Dinesh D’Souza:
Excellent book doing battle with the evangelists for atheism shaking their feeble fists at God. Will motivate you to think better, pray harder and love more deeply, your atheist friends.
