Weekend Musings
A friend (Miguel, over at Making Disciples on Facebook) asked what my simplest definition of discipleship was. How about this one:
“Leading people to believe in,
and to love and live more like Jesus for a lifetime.”
When people say they want to make disciples (Matthew 28:18-20), what is it we are making? Join the discussion. We need to hear from you.

Hi Marty,
I hope you make it safely to your destination today. I arrived in Montreal about 8 PM after a good trip and good conversation with Jacques. It was a blessing and encouragement to be with you the past week.
Realizing the need to keep the definition of discipleship simple, I don’t think “believe” conveys all it needs to in English. When I make a disciple I am not satisfied until the person entrusts everything to Jesus. That, in any case, is what one will need to do in order to fully love and live like Him.

I love that simple statement for it combines evangelism and discipling into one seamless continuum.
When we obey the directive in Matthew 28:19-20 we are participants in the transforming process described in 2 Corinthians 3:18 “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.”
Our mission statement as we serve as Ambassadors of Reconciliation.
