Wednesday is for Prayer

Here’s a thought:
Have every preacher in America begin to gather a group of prayer warriors to pray for the raising up of five such preachers from the remaining years of our lives. Let’s start now.
“Lord, I don’t know how much time you will give me. I don’t know when the roll will be called and I will have to give an account of my life. I only know that blood of Christ will cover my sin and I praise you for that. In the time that remains to me, would you raise up five men for whom you are enough, who aren’t concerned with status or power or success but only in pleasing you, in serving you, in loving your people and preaching your word. Give me five men who fear nothing but sin and live for the glory of Christ. Shake the gates of hell with such men. For your glory and the world’s joy, in the powerful name of the Risen One, Amen.”

Excellent prayer.
And here is another thought. Some friends of mine and I have all set an alarm (phone, watch…) for 3pm, every day. (the ninth hour, the hour of prayer, Acts 3:1) When it goes off we pray, if only for a moment, more if there is time. For revival, personal, Church wide, in our particular vocation, and for whatever else God may lay on our hearts.
I would hope to be walking down the street in Chicago some day at 3pm, have that alarm go off, reach in my pocket to shut it off and stop and pray… and then notice that everyone else on the street with me is doing the same. What a glorious day!

I thank God for this vision! God is preparing us for this high calling, of this I am sure. As God prunes my wife and I, we realize how much we gain when we lose, how the cross does not leave us empty but fills us with Christ. God is rooting out “things”, and “stuff” that does not matter, and replacing the void with life! God’s life! Like Abraham, who owned nothing, but possessed everything, because God tested him and he passed the test! God is refining us, and your posts are such an encouragement. (Thanks to Terry Ivy for directing us here, He has/is a huge blessing to us as well!!)
