Wow, what an eventful week in the Schoenleber / Aldrin clan!

It’s been an eventful week in the Schoenleber clan. It started on Sunday with Trinity Church of Watseka and Ashkum calling me as their next Teaching Pastor. See link here to our August Update on the back story to how that happened.

On Monday, as we started packing up our house in Bolingbrook and listing some furniture of Craig’s List, I found myself nostalgic and frankly, wimpy at almost everything. My emotions were all over place. Tears appeared in my eyes at almost any thought. Tuesday was much the same but we were also waiting on the “next big thing.”

Then Meredith, our daughter, went into labor and on Wednesday morning delivered she and husband Dan’s first child, son Owen Reginald Aldrin and our first grandchild. I got to hold the baby and see my brave daughter (who broke her tail bone in the delivery of Owen) and then had to jump in the car to Watseka to prepare for a new message and a Lord’s Supper celebration this Sunday.

Nope. I don’t think I am going to forget this week for a long time. Thanks to all of you who have welcomed us to the ranks of grandparenthood and to the new position at Trinity. Please continue to pray for us and for young Owen, Dan and Meredith. The Aldrin and Schoenleber families thank you in advance and rejoice in having such a God and such friends as you.The richness of God’s blessings are so extraordinary. Surely, “eye has not seen, ear has not heard, nor has it entered into the thoughts of men, what God has prepared for those who love him” (1 Cor. 2:9).

Update:  Young Owen needed to be put on oxygen late Wednesday. He seems to be doing fine now, but keep praying for him.

  1. Congratulations on the birth of your first grandchild, moving and coming to Trinity all within a few days! What a week!
