Tuesday is for Preaching
Here’s my take on the first verses I would ask the elders of my church plant to memorize.

Romans 10:14-15 (ESV)
14 How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? 15 And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!”[1]
My hope would be that these verses would be used by the Spirit of God to impress the elders with …
- A desire to both protect your time and hold you accountable to invest priority effort in the preaching of the word of God and the gospel.
- A zeal to be preachers of the word of God themselves.
- A passion to help the whole congregation take the gospel to friends, neighbors and relatives.
- A passion to pray and look for opportunities to boldly proclaim the gospel to those who have not yet heard the life transforming power of the gospel.
“Lord, you told us to ask you for workers to be thrust forth into the harvest (Luke 10:2). I’m asking. Give us elders and pastors who are passionate about preaching the gospel so that they will take seriously the task of equipping the saints for the work of the ministry. Give us workers for the harvest of souls. In Jesus Name, Amen.”
